Gleeson School Renovation
The Retired Teacher's Association had a dream of preserving the old one-room school that was built in the early 1900's as a piece of Perry County history. Lincoln Hills RC&D was awarded a grant to move the Gleeson Shool to the Perry Central school property. Later, another grant was awarded to complete the preservation and protection of the land surrounding the historic school. The general public can visit the Gleeson School and learn the history of one-room schools and the historic structure of this building.
Huffman Mill Covered Bridge
Lincoln Hills RC&D assisted this grassroots organization in collecting donations for the purpose of improving and protecting the historical Huffman Mill Covered Bridge on the Perry & Spencer County boundary. Lighting was purchased from funds collected to discourage vandalism to the historical structure.
Perry County Conservation
Various community projects and donations are funded through this organization supported by the Perry County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD).
Friends of the Rickenbaugh House came together to develop a future for the historic Rickenbaugh/Celina House. This historic stone structure, overlooking Celina Lake has been stabilized and restored and is now being used as a nature and interpretive center
